Feed
the Hens!
A hens
party is a marvellous occasion for the bride to be and, of course,
for her lucky girlfriends who join in for the wild ride. First step
is deciding whether you want to organise the perfect hens party
yourselves or choose one of the fabulous party planning companies
to do most (or all) of the work for you.
Whether
it's a night out touring the hottest nightclubs or a naughty
party with the company of sculpted boys (or anything in between)
there is no excuse to not have the perfect hens party.
As
with any party there is one aspect that is of utmost importance
(mostly to soak up the alcohol) and it's something that isn't often
given the highest priority on a hens night, it's food!
Most
people will run away at the prospect of having to prepare food for
a party. If it happens to be your best friends hen party and you've
been put in charge of food arrangements the pressure can make you
pop. But don't fret and don't get stuck in a rut having
the same food for a hens night that you would have for any other
party.
It's
time to get creative, with the following set of (VERY) easy instructions
you'll have an original and classy meal, (without having to
get a mortgage on your house to pay for it), set to go for the party
and you'll be the co-star of the evening.
We
are going to tell you how to make fondue as the delicious gastronomic
delight to satisfy hunger for this last night of girls fun before
the brides big day.
- Step1
-
Determine
the number of different fondues that will be prepared for
the hen party, it's good to be prepared and get a mental
picture of the whole process in front of you before starting
out.
For a typical menu you will require one pot for cooking meat,
one for melting cheese and one for chocolate.
-
- Step2
- Prepare
a shopping list from the recipes that you have chosen for your
hen party fondue menu. Be generous, plan for the unexpected
and buy a little more than you would require, although don't
go overboard. A little extra won't cost you much and can
save the day.
Get fresh items: some items can be purchased a few days in advance,
but meats, veggies and fruits need to be purchased the day before
the party.
-
- Step3
- Wash
and dry fruits and vegetables. Cut into smaller pieces if necessary
(which in most cases is.)
-
- Step4
- Cut
meat into cubes. These will be cooked in very hot (avoid olive
oil) peanut oil so cut the cubes large enough so that they do
not slip off your fondue skewer.
-
- Step5
- Cut
up fruit, open up the bags of lollies and cake (or whatever
you have decided to go with) that is to be to be dipped in the
chocolate fondue. Regular off the shelf pound cake is a good
choice as it is dense and holds up well in the dipping process.
-
- Step6
- Fill
your fondue hamper or pots with the appropriate ingredients
to start the heating process--peanut oil for meat, cheese for
bread and veggies and chocolate for fruits and cake. Make certain
that all melting pot ingredients are completely melted and ready
for dipping by the time your guests arrive.
-
- Step7
- Get
ready to eat!
